I am doing a debate for my history class regarding the the election of 1912. My side is the Republican party, led by William Howard Taft. The other three candidates are the Socialist Party, led by Eugene Debs, the Bull Moose Party, led by Theodore Roosevelt, and the Democrats, led by the eventual president Woodrow Wilson. As Taft, I have to prepare for questions the other parties may ask him, and I am having trouble placing together information in the form of questions from the other parties. Any help is appreciated. Asked by Rex J - Mon Jan 26 20:51:22 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Well, they will probably ask you about social welfare programs and a bunch of Marxist topics. They may ask such things as "Do you enjoy the suffering of thousands of workers?" to which you can discuss how capitalism has improved their lives overall. I'd also recommend looking at the 1912 party platforms, a google search will probably help you. Also, use Wikipedia, and if you're afraid to use it because it "isn't reliable," just visit the citations at the bottom of the page. Q. Why the lies, rumors and random comments based on nothing? Racist, sexist, and even people saying stuff about candidates that I don't even like. Why is there so much hatred against certain candidates, particularly Clinton, Obama and McCain? I can say something positive about all of the candidates regardless if I am voting for them or not. Why try to bring others down with lies instead of maintaining integrity? Many people will say "it's politics" and I agree to an extent. But when the put-downs overshadow the issues, that is where I draw the line. Asked by Noelle - Tue Jan 29 13:12:55 2008 - - 11 Answers - 0 Comments A. well spoken..it kills me to think this election is in most peoples eyes is about race, religion, and gender. people should be looking at the issues..sorry i do not support your candidate but have defended him several times.. can not stand racism..either way..and people who are voting because obama is black, hillery is a woman, huck a minister or romney a mormon are doing as much harm in their own way..you should always research then vote for who shares your views. just one little racial pun to think about...how many times have we{the white people} voted for a white man who has just stabbed us in the back. a woman will do this to a woman, a black to a black..vote with your heart and mind for people who share your views. thanks for you… [cont.] Answered by mike h - Tue Jan 29 13:32:20 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Candidates"
