A president is a leader of an organization, company, trade union, university, or country.

Etymologically, a president is one who presides, who sits in leadership (from Latin pre- "before" + sedere "to sit"; giving the term praeses). Originally, the term referred to the presiding officer of a ceremony or meeting (i.e., chairman), but today it most commonly refers to an official. Among other things, president today is a common title for the heads of state of most republics, whether popularly elected, chosen by the legislature or by a special electoral college. It is also often adopted by dictators.

Can a sitting President pardon himself and others in his admin from future possible charges?
Q. Can a sitting President do this? Can he pardon himself and his top people from charges not yet even laid yet? For example, could a president pardon himself and his cabinet for any charges that could ever come about for specific activities they were involved in during their time in office? Even though it ma not be viewed as an actual offense for years afterward?

A. I doubt it, but if there's a way, Bush & Cheney will find it . . . they'd better find it!

Is President Bush out of touch with American desires or does he have his finger on the pulse of America?
Q. The President recently vetoed a health insurance plan for low income children. Now this is only a partial quote: "Poor kids first," Bush said. "Secondly, I believe in private medicine, not the federal government running the health care system." If poor families can't afford health care with a government assisted health plan what chance do they have in affording a health plan if it is completely privatized? I am interested in your thoughts.

What way of picking vice president is best?
Q. What way of picking vice president is best? It used to be there was a race for president and the second place winner became the vice president. Now, the Democrats and Republicans just let their presidential candidates pick their vice presidents, but the Libertarians have a separate election for vice president. Do you think the Democrats and Republicans should do it the Libertarian way so the voters can pick their vice president, or do you like the Democrat/Republican way so we get an early idea of what kind of judgement the presidential candidate has?

A. Presidential candidate should be allowed to choose who they want to work with on an almost intimate level for the next 4 to 8 years. The old way didn't work which is why they abandoned it.
